QWARTZ EIGHTH EDITION
Electronic Music and New Media Art Awards

Qwartz launch the eighth edition of Qwartz Electronic Music and New Media Art Awards. The prizes reward the different aspects of digital culture such as new and electronic music, audiovisual and graphics, new media art, instruments, and technological innovation. Two international contests are launched once a year in order to promote, support and enhance the work of independent artists and labels.

Qwartz 8th is open to works and releases published after January 1, 2010, by independent artists and labels only.

05.23 – 15.07.2011: Registration to Qwartz 8 MUSIC contest
06.15 – 09.01.2011: Registration to Qwartz 8 NEW MEDIA ART contest
11.15.2011: Release of Qwartz 8 nominations
End of March, 2012: Awards Ceremony (Paris – date and place tbc)

>> QWARTZ PRIZES
Following both contests 10 prizes are attributed by the Juries – the detailed list of the prizes can be found in the Terms & Conditions. Prize-winners receive financial endowments or endowments in kind.
3 honorific prizes are attributed by Qwartz Management Committee as well: Qwartz d’Honneur, Qwartz Pierre Schaeffer and Qwartz Max Mathews.

>> JURIES & HONORIFIC CHAIRMANSHIP
The names of the both Juries members and President(e)s will be known in September, 2011. The Qwartz 8 Honorific Chairmanship will be attributed soon.
