An online virtual cemetery, LastSleep offers a place where you can lay to rest and mourn the death of people, animals, thoughts and things that have passed from your life. The cemetery only exists virtually, there is no physical correlation and the graves are laid out according to category, chronology, memory and the user who buried them.
The design is unusually sophisticated, while many 'virtual ceremonies' inflict kitsch and an excess of floral motifs into your grief, LastSleep provides a highly stylish range of gothic and retro flowers. Mourners can drop a tear privately, or leave flowers and a note in public beside the grave. The perfect resting place for our times - live online : die online. Famous and notable epitaphs provide inspiration, while the subjects of mourning range from musicians, writers, artists, friends and family, to pets, extinct animals (Pyrenean Ibex), 'abstract concepts' (thoughts of the thought, I think I love someone who isn't my boyfriend, life always in the future, anything or everything, following other people's dreams) and 'things' like eyebrow piercing, sobriety, bento box, bialetti venus moka, half a lemon and a four-pack remembered with the words: It was here and now it's gone. Just like we all go in the end.
