Gintarė Valevičiūtė was born in 1981 (Marijampolė) and currently lives and works in Vilnius. She has completed Painting (BA), Animation (BA) and Photography and Media Arts (MA) in Vilnius Academy of Art (VAA). Gintare is an interdisciplinary artist, working with different forms of media, which are determined by a certain theme or idea. The field of artistic inquiry is based upon various angles of three intertwining themes: bio-politics, body, and art.
